Bristol Memorial Woodlands to host worksop on loss, grief and bereavement

Local funeral venue Bristol Memorial Woodlands is holding a workshop dedicated to the exploration and understanding of loss, grief, and bereavement, specifically designed for healthcare professionals.

Taking place on Thursday 25 April, the half-day workshop will be run by grief expert Mireille Hayden, who has held similar sell-out events at the woodlands in previous years.

The workshop is aimed at healthcare and end-of-life professionals and will help participants understand the impact of grief with the aim of helping others navigate the healing process. It will also look at the current theoretical approaches to loss and gain insight into the diversity of experiences in relation to bereavement.

Bristol Memorial Woodlands is a local funeral directors, located near Thornbury, with a 100-acre site, including its own chapel and reception rooms.

Mireille Hayden said: “In these challenging times, the emotional wellbeing of healthcare providers is of paramount importance. The workshop is designed to offer a supportive space for professionals to explore the themes of loss, grief and bereavement, both from their personal perspectives and in their capacity as caregivers.

“We have held this seminar at Bristol Memorial Woodlands previously and we always receive such fantastic feedback from professionals who find the learnings useful and insightful. Holding the event within the serene and reflective environment of Bristol Memorial Woodlands sets the tone beautifully.”

Chris Baker, founder of Bristol Memorial Woodlands, said: “We are pleased to be organising this workshop once again. Healthcare professionals do an amazing, and very difficult job, so we feel it is important to acknowledge their invaluable service and the emotional challenges they face in their roles.

“We hope the tranquil setting of the woodlands offers a unique opportunity for quiet contemplation and connection with nature.”

Bristol Memorial Woodlands offers a peaceful and dignified funeral setting with 100 acres of burial woodland, providing families with a place to visit and remember loved ones for years to come.
