Our woodland is open to all 365 days a year

Please feel free to come for a picnic, to walk your dog (on leads), to watch the seasons changing or to simply come, reflect and recharge your batteries.

Our opening times are:
November – March : 7:30am-5:30pm
April – October : 7:30am-7:30pm

Preserving woodland areas

Bristol Memorial Woodland Trust

Bristol Memorial Woodland Trust is a registered charity (number 1082094). Set up in 2000 with the aim of creating and preserving woodland areas for public benefit. It relies entirely on public donations, including legacies left in wills.

The Trust holds & manages the 100 acres of Bristol Memorial Woodlands that is being transformed into public parkland, open to all and protected for the pleasure and benefit of future generations.

It is a place for burials and the interment of ashes and stands as a memorial for all who rest there, open to all it is a haven where generations may visit, enjoy the woodland and wildlife and remember their loved ones and ancestors.

People can leave a legacy towards the future upkeep of the woodland. Those who are interred here are encouraged to do so, as it is only through the work of the charity that the site can be maintained on its ecological journey.

The site is evolving with a mixture of woodland, glades and wildflower meadows. Study groups and seminars are encouraged. School parties and respite groups are welcome.  

The Trust owns the topsoil of the site to a depth of one metre. This enables the Trust to manage and control the evolution of the site into the nature reserve intended. A place of public benefit, for both pleasure and education.
