Workshop successfully highlights loss, grief and bereavement

A training workshop for healthcare and end-of-life professionals held at Bristol Memorial Woodlands looked at the latest approaches to loss, grief and bereavement, gaining positive feedback from those attending.

Twenty-four professionals attended building on their skills to support themselves and others through the feelings people experience when someone close dies.

It was organised in partnership with Mireille Hayden, founding partner of Gentle Dusk which provides training and events around death, dying and bereavement.

Attendees said it was a valuable and thought-provoking event that gave them real insight, information and knowledge to help them in their roles.

Feedback comments included: “It was very interactive, and so refreshing to normalise death”; “Excellent speaker made you feel at ease to share. Excellent information that I can take to my role” and “I learned how to support someone grieving and it was helpful for my own grief.”

The workshop was the latest event held at Bristol memorial Woodlands aimed at helping people through the process of grieving.
