Taking the Time

At Bristol Memorial Woodlands, we pride ourselves on offering you choice and flexibility. Before the funeral, we will help you craft a fitting and personalised occasion.

On the day itself, we will ensure you have ample time to say private farewells within the peaceful surroundings of our memorial woodland.

It is our aim to accommodate all those requests made by the departed and their family. Our chapel of rest is available by arrangement for you to sit with your loved one, so that friends and family can pay their respects and say final private goodbyes.

We provide the exclusive use of our chapel, reception rooms and gardens on the day of the funeral allowing you the time, space and privacy to mark this rite of passage with respect and dignity, whether you have chosen for the occasion a half day or a full day.

We believe that Memorial Woodlands is not just a place to say goodbye – it’s also a beautiful living memorial, where friends and family can visit and reminisce in the days, weeks and years that follow.

How Woodland Burials Benefit the Environment

At Memorial Woodlands, we understand that the essence of remembrance lies in creating an eternal tribute that resonates with both personal and environmental significance. Our journey began with a vision to establish a sanctuary where memories could flourish amidst the natural beauty of our memorial woodland. The founding principle of woodland burials is transformation, turning grief into growth, by providing a serene environment that nurtures both the soul and the surrounding earth.

Nestled within a 100-acre nature reserve, our woodland burials offer a unique and meaningful way to honour your loved ones. Unlike traditional burial sites, our memorial woodland is designed to be a vibrant habitat, teaming with life. Not only promoting biodiversity but preserving the threatened countryside. Each memorial tree planted becomes a living testament to life’s perseverance, evolving and flourishing with the changing seasons. This timeless tradition, steeped in symbolic meaning, creates a space where memories endure and tranquillity is discovered with each new leaf.

Sustainability is at the heart of our mission. By implementing eco-friendly practices, we aim to develop thriving reserves that are self-sustaining, moving beyond reliance on charitable donations. The high-quality memorial services offered at our Bristol nature reserve play a crucial role in supporting our conservation efforts. These services not only provide a dignified farewell for your loved ones but also contribute directly to the preservation and expansion of our green spaces.

You can learn more about our commitment to nature on our visiting page. Here, you will find insights into Our Trust’s dedication to maintaining a serene and beautiful sanctuary. Each woodland burial and memorial tree planting is a tribute to both the environment and eternal peace, creating a legacy that benefits future generations.

Bristol Memorial Woodlands stands as a testament to our belief that through our losses, we can cultivate growth and renewal. Our story is one of harmony with nature, where every memorial tree planted not only honours the past but also nurtures the future, ensuring that Bristol’s greenery thrives and expands.
