Remembrance Service 2010

7th November 2010

Reverend William Denning

More than 300 people attended an open air service of remembrance at Memorial Woodlands, Alveston.

Now in its seventh year, the service is based on the international Day of the Dead or All Souls' Day, and gives friends and relatives of those laid to rest at Memorial Woodlands the opportunity to remember their loved ones.
The service was led by Colston Smith with readings by the friends of the woodlands, and music from harpist Tessa Sullivan and Round the Edge Choir.

Allan Armstrong, funeral directing manager at Memorial Woodlands, said:

"Yet again the annual Service of Remembrance has given comfort to those with friends and relatives buried at Memorial Woodlands.

"It is so important that families have the chance to gather together and celebrate the lives of the departed, and we are delighted that so many have taken the chance to join us again this year. We have always maintained that our service to families is ongoing and we hope that this service is a demonstration of that commitment."
