• Dear Martin

May I thank you so much for all the help you gave me before and after Hazel’s funeral … The choice of Karen as celebrant was perfect. The choice of Memorial Woodlands surpassed even my best hopes.

Although I had previous good feedback from friends regarding Memorial Woodlands it was only after I met you and visited the chapel and reception building that I was sure it be the right place to say goodbye to Hazel.

During the day you were available and able to help me when needed. In view of the large number who came I understand you asked the staff to bring out more food, which was much appreciated.

Everyone I spoke to was delighted by the buildings and grounds. The long drive through the grounds to the funeral buildings ensured the funeral was really private and respectful.

Although we were not able to fully enjoy the gardens because of the time of year, the fish pond did prove a point of fascination for the children present!

Once you have experienced the difference [between Memorial Woodlands] and more traditional funerals, you would not want to go back to the usual system of one funeral followed immediately by another.

A sad occasion was turned into the celebration of a happy life that Hazel so wanted. I know she, too, would have been delighted.

    My very best wishes,

We hold regular events at Memorial Woodlands, remembering the dead and celebrating the living.

In particular we hold an annual family service of remembrance each November for families whose loved ones are laid to rest here and/or or whose funeral was held in our chapel.

We also hold an annual war memorial service of remembrance, honouring those who have lost their life this millennium while in military service.

If you’d like to have an informal tour of the Memorial Woodlands consider attending an open day.
